Point out - Foreign Students in Italy: An Overview of Their Experience

The need for and the importance of relations between individuals of different social, economic, educational and cultural backgrounds have recently become more and more evident. Point out seeks, in this respect, to reconcile social analysis and artistic research. The idea of interviewing foreign students with different cultural identities, and establish with them a dialogue was conceived in conjunction with the contemporary arts exhibition entitled „Giochi di Luce 1999", held at the University of Ferrara. Hence the production of a Video, featuring a number of students coming from Africa and other European countries and describing their experience and feelings in Italy.
The project is a joint production of the City of Ferrara and the Administrative Council of Youth Politics, with the collaboration of the University of Ferrara. The video was produced at the City Cinema
Center.
