La_alma uses a computer to create a „live edit" of randomly accessed movies documenting a remote history. A narration recalls conversations with a grandmother, memories of 2 anniversaries and a pet parakeet. Over 80 letters and documents dating from the 1860's to 1880's Berlin to brooklyn, were the source for visualizing Alma's forgotten history during her Altzheimers. Montage imagery of ticking machines, microfiche, obsolete handwriting, and the palimpsestual nature of the former East Berlin, all reveal memories of a woman who has nearly forgotten language. As the narration describes, speaking wich Alma during her illness was like „jumping through a word search for remember".
